The course considers important issues such as keeping children safe when they play, children’s rights in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) and children playing with risk and challenge. We will also cover the play cycle and types of play. This will give you the theoretical background to improve your professional work.
This Ofqual-regulated Understanding Playwork qualification will help you to progress to further study in playwork. Upon completion, you could then progress to studying the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Playwork. Other higher-level qualifications in playwork, youth work, or early childhood studies, such as the NCFE CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Playwork, can support your career progression. It also makes you more employable and improves your career prospects. This course can support progression into roles such as playworker or play ranger in various settings.
