Supporting someone at the last stages of their life is one of the most sensitive field in the health and social care sector. This is one of the fast growing field under the health and social care sector in the UK.
This Level 2 End of Life Care certificate is a well recognised foundation course in understanding and learning the end of life support in the UK. You’ll learn how to care for them, ease their pain, support people with dementia and how to create comfort in someone’s last days in the world. You will also learn how to support the emotions of the families and help them.
You don’t need any medical training or educational qualifications to take this course, as it teaches you everything from the basics. However, you have to be over 16 years old to take this course. This is a completely online course with 135 guided learning hours. Most learners complete this course within 4 to 6 months. You will be given access to the course and all the resources for 12 months in case you need more flexibility.
Once you finish this level 2 in end of life support certification, you can move into any of the higher qualifications mentioned in the academic progression section below. You can also apply for jobs in health and social care or the adult care. If you’re someone already in the field, this course can be more advantageous as you learn to improve the quality of your care from the foundation.

To complete the Level 2 Certificate in the Principles of End of Life Care, you will compile a portfolio of evidence demonstrating your knowledge and understanding of end‑of‑life care. Your portfolio may include written reports, essays, reflective accounts, case studies, infographics or presentations, and professional discussions. As this is a knowledge‑only qualification, you do not need to complete a work placement.
