Throughout your studies, you’ll receive guidance and feedback on your assignments to help you grow in confidence and skill.
Assessment is coursework-based. You’ll complete written assignments, case studies, reflective tasks and practical coaching activities, including a practicum element where you demonstrate your coaching skills in action. There are no formal sit-down exams. Your work is internally assessed and quality assured to meet national standards.
Once you complete the Level 5 Diploma, you can move on to Level 6 qualifications in nutrition, health or coaching, apply for relevant undergraduate study (subject to entry requirements), or specialise in areas such as public health, sports nutrition, women’s health, or health psychology. You could also start working independently as a nutrition and health coach or enhance your current role within wellbeing, fitness, or community health settings. Many learners use this qualification as the foundation for building their own coaching practice.

Yes. The Mental Health and Trauma Awareness unit helps you understand key mental health disorders and reflect on the importance of being trauma-informed as a coach.
9 units available, not required for diploma. It allows you to tailor your learning to your interests and career goals. You can learn about women’s health and hormones, the gut and microbiome, nutrition, psychology and food choices, the ayurvedic way of life and nutrition, sports nutrition for peak performance, botanical healing (introduction to herbal medicine), superfoods and nutrition, chronic disease, wellbeing guidelines, and resources. As well as the 6 compulsory units, you also need to take at least 3 optional units to achieve the 60 credits required for the diploma.
Yes, Qualifi does have a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy, so they can see what you already know. You may be able to get out of doing formal coursework for a unit if you can show that you already have the knowledge, understanding, or skills required for that unit. It could be work, life experience, or previous study.
The qualification has a simple pass/fail grading system. To pass the knowledge test, you need a score of 70% or higher. There are no distinctions. No letter grades. It’s not just one high-stakes exam you need to worry about, as assessments can be of many types, including multiple choice questions, short answer questions, case studies, written reflections, and practical coaching submissions.
The qualification is made up of 9 units, of which a minimum of 3 are optional. You will be required to undertake some of the units such as Human Nutrition, Wellbeing Management and Coaching Practices, Mental Health and Trauma Awareness, Coach Training for Professional Accreditation and Chronic Disease, Wellbeing Guidelines and Resources. Optional units cover areas like Sports Nutrition, Ayurvedic Lifestyle and Nutrition, Botanical Healing, Superfoods, Nutrition Psychology, Women’s Health and Hormones and The Gut and Microbiome.
Yes. When you complete this diploma, particularly the Coach Training for Professional Accreditation unit (DNHC507), you will be able to become a professional member of and be certified by the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the UK and International Health Coach Association (UKIHCA).
You do not need any formal academic qualifications if you are at least 18 years old. If you have relevant work experience or have learnt something before, you may also be able to get Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
You pass. Or you don’t pass. Theory tests have a pass mark of 70% or more. Written assignments are used to evaluate all units by students themselves. These assignments are then quality checked by QUALIFI before issuing the certificates.
Yes. On successful completion of this diploma, you may progress to the QUALIFI Level 7 Diploma in Health and Wellness Coaching. It can also help your progress within your degree program if you study for another relevant 60-credit qualification at the same time, such as the QUALIFI Level 5 Diploma in Health and Wellness Coaching.
