RQF

Entry Requirements
  • The course is suitable for those aged 16 and above.
  • A minimum of GCSE or Level 2 in literacy and numeracy.
  • Work placement is a requirement (A nursery is suitable). Work placement is required throughout the qualification. The real work environment must encompass the age range from birth to 5 years.
  • Learners already working in the children’s workforce will be able to use their ongoing work environment experience to achieve the skills and competencies required.

Method of Assessment

This course is evaluated through a combination of written assignments and a direct observation. Importantly, this course doesn’t have exams. Here’s an overview of how you will be assessed throughout the course:

  • Written Assignments: You will complete written assignments which will be carefully reviewed and evaluated by an assessor. These assignments will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of the course content. All completed assignments are marked internally within South London College. You will receive constructive feedback and guidance from your personal tutor, which will support your learning and improvement.
  • Direct Observation: Practical observations will be conducted in your work setting (A nursery is suitable) to demonstrate competence in both skills and knowledge.
  • Assessor Support: You will have continuous access to your assessor through various communication channels, including Telephone, WhatsApp, online discussion forums, email, and web chats. This support will be available to assist you with any questions or concerns regarding your assessments

Certification Upon successful completion of the course, individuals will be awarded the Ofqual-regulated qualification of the Level 3 Diploma for the Children’s Workforce (Early Years Educator) – RQF by Training Qualifications UK (TQUK).
