Yes. This Level 5 Extended Diploma in IT-Web Design is available online, allowing flexible study at a convenient pace while developing advanced IT and web design skills.
You have to obtain 240 credits in total. Each unit in the qualification carries 20 credits and is drawn from the Level 4 and Level 5 programmes. Of the 12 units required, 6 are at Level 4 and 6 are at Level 5. All units must be completed. This is equivalent to 2400 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT).
The qualification consists of 12 mandatory units, delivered over two levels. Level 4 will introduce you to IT ethics and information technology, computer maintenance and operating systems, computer graphics editing and database concepts, web design 1, and programming. Level 5 units are tech business, network security, C#.NET programming, system administration, content management systems, and web design 2.
The program covers many different web technologies. Level 4 You will construct and program websites with HTML5, CSS, PHP, and MySQL. Level 5 introduces JavaScript (for manipulating the DOM, form validation, and using AJAX), C#.NET with ASP.NET and Adobe Dreamweaver. You will also use XML, JSON, and content management systems (CMS) as part of your work.
Yes. If a learner completes all six of the Level 4 units and achieves 120 credits, they can be awarded the Level 4 Diploma as an exit award. Even if you don’t continue to complete the full 240-credit Extended Diploma, you are left with a recognised credential when you finish.
Written coursework is used to assess all units. The assignments are marked by the South London College teachers and then moderated by Qualifi prior to certification. Each unit will come with a Candidate Workbook from Qualifi. The grading is as follows: Fail (0% to 39%), Pass (40 to 59%), Merit (60 to 69%), and Distinction (70%+). All your units’ grades are included on your qualification transcript.
Yes. The Level 5 Technopreneurship unit is an essential part of the programme as it shows you how to set up a new business based on technology. It includes the personality of tech entrepreneurs, how to start a business, marketing strategies, intellectual property protection, raising money, and exiting a business. If you want to learn to be both technically skilled and business savvy, this is a good option.
You must be at least 18 years old to apply. If English is not your first language, then you need to get at least a 6 in the IELTS. In general, you will be required to provide two references to support your claim, and at least one must be academic.
