The NCFE CACHE Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care qualification is a gateway into the health and social care sector. It is designed to equip you with the skills and knowledge to do your job or to progress to further education in health and social care.
This Health and Social Care course will give you the basic values and rules of good care. It will also help you learn how to help people in different situations. You will learn how to protect rights and equality, how people change over time, how to keep vulnerable people safe, how to speak well and how to work professionally in the field.
You can do this course whether you are new to the field or already working as a support worker. It will help you to learn the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need to provide person-centred care.
This extended diploma will allow you to progress onto the NCFE CACHE Level 3 Award, Certificate or Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. You can also take the Diploma in Early Years Education and Care at level 3. You can also progress to courses that are specific to dementia, mental health or learning disabilities.
With this qualification you could work as a Care Support Worker in an adult residential setting, a Healthcare Assistant in a community, primary care or acute health setting or a Community-based Support Worker. You could also work in domiciliary care, supported living or day services. With experience and training you could become a supervisor, work as a social worker, become a nurse or do other jobs in health and social care.
