• Learners should be over the age of 19.
• It is recommended that learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy, ICT, and numeracy or equivalent.
• Be working toward or already in an IQA role.
• Have access to work with two assessors as part of the qualification.
• You must also have access to lead or manage one of more IQAs.

• The TQUK Level 4 Certificate in Leading the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice (RQF) requires approximately 115 guided study hours. This figure is an estimate and depends on how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how quickly you grasp the teaching, learning concepts, and course materials.

• Written Assignments: You will complete nine written assignments which will be carefully reviewed and evaluated by an assessor. You will use the principles and practices obtained throughout your career as an IQA and apply them during the practical assessment. These assignments will allow you to demonstrate your understanding of the course theory.
• Internal Marking and Feedback: All completed assignments are marked internally within South London College. You will receive constructive feedback and guidance from your personal tutor, which will support your learning and improvement.
• Workplace Evaluation: The practical unit requires you to check the quality of assessment processes to make sure they meet the standards and criteria. You will review the work of two Assessors, each working with at least 2 learners of their own. To complete this unit, you will be assessed by actually performing quality assurance tasks and creating evidence through work products. You will also be observed during your assessment. An expert witness should submit a statement on your performance as an IQA. Your performance as an IQA will include:
  • Observation of performance
  • Examining products of work
  • Questioning
• Plan & Allocate Work: You will plan IAQ activities for yourself and one or more IQAs. You must be able to ‘lead’, plan, and allocate work. You are also required to take lead on a standardisation meeting with other IQAs.
• Complete a Personal Statement: In your personal statement you will provide an overview of your experiences and motivation for taking this Level 4 Certificate. You will highlight your professional journey, relevant roles, and your commitment to ongoing professional development.
