This Level 3 Award in Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement is an Ofqual-regulated qualification intended for those seeking to work in roles that require conducting assessments in workshops, classrooms, or training centres. You will carry out knowledge-based assessments of the learner in simulated environments including skills tests, oral and written questions, projects, assignments, recognising prior learning, and case studies. You can successfully assess learners in a range of teaching settings, strengthening your competency in the assessment of vocational skills. Ofqual is England’s main government-appointed regulatory body, regulating school and college qualifications, and vocational and technical qualifications. (Detailed information is given below).
This Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement Level 3 Award (L3 AAVRA) is allocated 8 UCAS points.

The two units cover a variety of topics, including the role of an assessor, legislation related to assessing, types and methods of assessment in a vocational setting, holistic assessment and assessment planning, quality assurance and standardisation, providing feedback on vocational assessments, equality and diversity, reflective practice, and continuing professional development (CPD).

The Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual) is a non-ministerial government department that regulates qualifications, exams, and assessments in England. Ofqual ensures that all qualifications offered by recognised awarding organisations meet national standards, so you can trust that any Ofqual-regulated certificate is high quality and widely recognised by employers and universities. RQF The Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) is a system used in England, Northern Ireland, and Wales to categorise and regulate qualifications based on their level of difficulty and size. RQF is jointly regulated by England’s regulator Ofqual, Wales DCELLS, and Northern Ireland’s CCEA. The RQF ensures qualifications are standardised, making it easier for learners, employers, and educational institutions to understand the value and level of each qualification. The framework consists of nine levels, from Entry Level to Level 8, with each level indicating the complexity and depth of learning. For a qualification to be recognised as part of the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), it must be created or approved by an awarding body that is acknowledged by one of the government-appointed regulatory bodies. |

This course assesses your competence in evaluating a learner’s vocational skills, knowledge, and understanding outside of a work environment, such as in a simulated environment, workshop, or classroom.
There is no grading, you only need to achieve a pass.
